Countertop Options: Paperstone

Originally designed for skateboard ramps, Paperstone is made from hundreds of layers of FSC certified paper held together with a water-based resin. Paperstone countertops have a neutral look and a warm and natural feel compared to the coolness of granite and quarried materials. It is extremely durable, easy to clean and maintain, and is stain and scratch resistant. A downside to Paperstone is that it will darken over time, although some look at this as acquiring a desirable patina. It is expensive compared to laminate, but in the same price as granite and quartz. Overall, a good sustainable alternative for those who want a warm, natural look as opposed to the flashiness of granite and other quarried surfaces.

Paperstone is available at the Green Depot as well as at numerous countertop suppliers throughout the area.
